X-TubeProcessor®
Automated Tube Labeling for Flexible Laboratory Workflows
The X-TubeProcessor®_Sign is a compact automation system for precise labeling of laboratory tubes and vials. Designed for flexible laboratory environments, the system supports reliable identification processes while integrating smoothly into existing digital workflows.
Sign stands for maximum flexibility and future-proof laboratory automation
Sign processes a wide variety of tubes and vials ranging from 0.5 ml to 50 ml. Different container geometries, manufacturers, and materials can be handled within the same workflow without manual format changes. An adaptive gripper mechanism automatically adjusts to varying tube dimensions, supporting efficient mixed-format processing and reducing setup effort.
The integrated 600 dpi print module enables durable, high-resolution labeling of laboratory containers. The system supports text, numerical data, logos, linear barcodes, and 2D codes such as QR codes. Label templates and job information can be imported from external systems to support automated and standardized labeling processes.
Depending on rack configuration, Sign processes up to 1,152 tubes per run. The system is compatible with SBS rack standards as well as customized rack formats, allowing flexible adaptation to different laboratory requirements.
The X-TubeProcessor®_Sign – precision, safety, and digital integration for your laboratory
With the TwinCode barcoding system and seamless integration into ERP and LIMS environments, Sign enables controlled and standardized workflows. Designed for use in regulated laboratories, the advanced user and job management with integrated audit trail ensures maximum transparency and traceability, supporting customers in meeting compliance requirements.
The system supports integration into connected laboratory infrastructures via REST API interfaces. ERP and LIMS connectivity enables automated data exchange and controlled process execution.
Sign processes a wide variety of tubes and vials ranging from 0.5 ml to 50 ml. Different container geometries, manufacturers, and materials can be handled within the same workflow without manual format changes.
The TwinCode system combines side labeling with bottom barcode identification to support reliable sample tracking. This enables tube-specific workflow decisions and precise positioning within racks.
Dedicated control software supports structured workflow execution, process documentation, and user management. The software environment supports laboratories operating under GMP-, GLP-, and 21 CFR Part 11-relevant requirements.
The Sign-system is designed for automated labeling of laboratory tubes and vials. Especially for standardized labeling processes, Sign helps reduce manual work steps and make laboratory workflows more efficient.
The system is suitable for, among other things:
With Sign, different tube and labeling processes can be automated, including:
The system supports controlled and reproducible processes in everyday laboratory work.
Yes, Sign can process different tube and vial types within a single automated workflow. Thanks to its flexible 4-jaw gripper, different tube formats can be handled without time-consuming changeovers.
This makes the system particularly suitable for laboratories working with changing tube types and varying day-to-day requirements.
Automated tube labeling helps laboratories to:
Through automated and standardized labeling processes, laboratories can increase productivity while improving process reliability.
The Sign processes different tube and vial formats ranging from 0.5 ml to 50 ml, including:
Depending on the system configuration, different tube sizes are supported:
X-TubeProcessor®_Sign ST22
Diameter: 7 – 22 mm Height: 15 – 120 mm
X-TubeProcessor®_Sign BT35
Diameter: 16 – 35 mm Height: 50 – 120 mm
This makes Sign suitable for a wide range of laboratory applications and tube types.
Sign supports tubes from the following manufacturers:
The tubes are pre-loaded into SBS racks and then processed automatically. The system can process up to 12 SBS racks at the same time.
Depending on the rack type, up to 1,152 tubes can be processed in a single run.
Sign achieves a throughput of up to 360 tubes per hour. The actual throughput depends, among other things, on the tube type, rack configuration, labeling and workflow.
A range of laboratory consumables is available for Sign, including:
Mikrolab - Frisenette offers application-specific consumables for different tube types and laboratory applications.
Depending on the application, different label variants are available, including:
