If the room temperature increases, or the sun shines into the lab, conventional wash bottles will drip because of the increased inner pressure. The venting valve ensures that the excess pressure can escape and dripping is prevented. With leakproof venting valve, contents cannot leak when bottle has fallen over as with wash bottles with ball valve or venting hole.
